Liner notes

Four rules. Break them if you like.

  1. 01

    Don't curate. Confess.

The song you'd be embarrassed to admit to your most pretentious friend? That one. The truth beats the flex every time.

  2. 02

    Pick songs with a story.

A track that holds a moment (a 2 AM drive, a fight you regret, the first time something clicked) says more than a great-on-paper banger. Put the story in a liner note.

  3. 03

    Ten means ten.

Not nine, not eleven. The limit is the point: if you can pick ten, the list starts saying something.

  4. 04

    Mix your eras.

A 1977 song next to last year's says something about how you listen. Don't sand it smooth.

Got your Ten in mind?

It takes about three minutes to put it down.
